This weekend retreat is an exploration of our essential nature as openness, and how the recognition of this openness is the foundation of true freedom.
Over four sessions, Amoda Maa explores the meaning of openness from a nondual perspective and reveals some of the veils of perception that can prevent us from living as this openness in all circumstances. Each session includes a guided meditation followed by a discourse.
These teachings offer potent pointers to liberation from ego-identity through the recognition of openness as our natural state.
1 — Untangling the Ego
Examining how the ego-identity forms itself by getting lost in the content of our experience, and how the tight knot if ego comes undone when we are willing to meet our experience as relaxed presence.
Includes Guided Meditation #1: Meeting Your Experience as Relaxed Presence
2 — Falling into Open Awareness
Exploring how we can meet our experience without interference and without interpretation, and how this allows a softening of attention to reveal the open space that is the background of all experience.
Includes Guided Meditation #2: Becoming Aware of Space Permeating Everything
3 — Knowing Yourself as the Infinite
Understanding the difference between the limited “me” and the infinite “I”, and how aboding as the “I” in the midst of all experiences gives birth to the paradox of intimacy with all things and yet freedom from all things.
Includes Guided Meditation #3: Can You Find Yourself in Your Experience?
4 — An Unconditional Relationship to Life
Recognizing open awareness as unconditioned and unconditional, and how devoting ourselves to this moment as it appears is the ultimate prayer.
Includes Guided Meditation #4: Devoting Yourself to What Arises Without Naming
